I've been a reader most of my life, and have dreamed of being a writer ever since my 4th grade teacher treated me like one.
The steps along my path to published writer have been many; teacher, traveler, wife and mother...
1. I have been teaching elementary school for 16 years in the U.S., Italy and Japan, specializing in ESL (English as a Second Language).
2. Aside from living overseas, I've been lucky enough to travel from the glaciers of Juneau, Alaska to the Eifel Tower in Paris to the temples of Kyoto, Japan. I've ridden at breakneck speed in a taxi at sundown on the last day of Ramadan in Cairo, walked along the Great Wall of China, and argued with an Indonesian policeman who stopped us for running a green light in Ubud, Bali. The more places I go, the more there is yet to be discovered.
3. I met my husband in Trieste, Italy, where we recently spent 5 wonderful years living with our three children. I feel just as much at home there as I do in the U.S., and we always look forward to going back! If you've ever wondered what ex-pat life in Italy is like for an American, click here.
My stories for children are represented by Erin Murphy of the Erin Murphy Literary Agency.
